Free Breakfast Drop-in every Monday and Wednesday 9:00-10:00. Join friends and neighbours while having a free healthy breakfast. Kids are welcomed - with parents or caregivers.
CVRC regularly hosts pop ups, where a samples of a simple, healthy, home cooked meal or snack are served, along with the recipe. Anyone is invited to show up, try out the food, and stay for a chat!
Each week in the summer, we fill a wagon with a healthy snack and walk around the neighbourhood giving out samples to try.
Lettuce Eat is a monthly, hands-on cooking opportunity to make healthy and inexpensive meals. Registration is required.
CVRC is a distribution depot for the SJ Food Purchasing Club, a bulk buying program that offers a monthly opportunity to buy fresh produce at an affordable rate.
Pay for the order size you want ($15 for one large bag or $25 for two bags) and get a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables each month. Pick up your order the following week on pick-up day, 12:00 p.m.– 3:00 p.m.
You do not need to buy an order every month – just when it is beneficial to you.

Food Secure SJ is a network of partners who have joined together to work towards increasing food security in Saint John! We represent a wide variety of areas, organizations, and initiatives around the city.
The Growing Place is a unique, year-round, community garden facility run by CVRC. Currently, 35 plots ready for planting and our one-of-a-kind community greenhouse will be ready this spring, providing an additional 26 plots. Educational workshops on gardening and food related topic will run throughout the season. When complete, the garden will feature a smooth ground surface and seven raised plots to allow use by those with mobility limitations.
