Saint John Bike Share program

Providing bikes since 2015

The Saint John Bike Share Program receives, repairs, and redistributes donated bicycles to give everyone in Saint John access to active transportation.

OUR GOAL: Everyone who wants a bike has a bike.

OUR MISSION: To further Active Transportation & Bicycle Culture in Saint John and to expand the Bike Share Program to all areas of Greater Saint John - especially priority areas.

Currently, the Bike Share Program offers the following activities:

  • Bicycle Recycling: We accept donations of gently used/rust free bikes in all sizes.
  • Bicycle Repairing: Bike experts along with other volunteers repair the bikes so they can be used safely. Does your bike need to be repaired? Drop bikes off at CVRC on Tuesdays and Thursdays (9am-4pm) or at the Courtenay Bay Bike shed (758 Brunswick Drive) on Wednesday afternoon (1-4pm).
  • Bicycle Presentations: Repaired bicycles are given back to the community. Our focus is on residents of Saint John’s five priority neighbourhoods. All bikes distributed are fitted to the recipients who also receive a new helmet.
  • Bicycle Tune-Ups: During biking season we provide weekly drop-in opportunities for residents in Crescent Valley & Courtney Bay neighbourhoods to get their bikes repaired.

NEW! Satellite location at the Carleton Community Centre Saint John West.

Want to donate? We accept gently used, rust-free bikes. Call CVRC (693-8513)  to ask if your bike could be used in our program! Monetary donations are also accepted to purchase equipment, parts and helmets.

To apply for a bike: Come to CVRC between 9:00am and 4:00pm (Monday to Friday) and fill out an application form. Questions or require another way to apply? Call 693-8513.
